Welcome to the Hanham Family website.
12/28/10 (Suzanna)
“We are reflecting on a wonderful Christmas season here in South Asia, enjoying pleasant weather compared to the snow storms we hear our family and friends are having in the US and Canada! As we enter 2011, we wish everyone a New Year filled with joy and peace! Thank you for taking time to look at our website!
The picture below gives you an idea of how we shop here. Our helpers are weighing rice and lentils which we included in gift bags to the needy. All paper is recycled here. Note the bags for the loose rice and lentils are sheets of newspaper folded and glued together.

This time of year, many blankets are available for purchase.

Here is Richard carrying one bundle of blankets we bought.

It was fun sharing how Christmas is celebrated in America, Korea, Africa, and South Asia with the many visitors we have had during Christmas! Children especially enjoyed our birthday cake for Jesus!

Christmas morning was quiet this year. We let all our staff go to their villages for the holidays, so it was only the two of us in the morning. Later we met with other Americans for a traditional Christmas dinner.

TRICK-OR-TREAT in Reverse! Christmas Day we went around our community handing out warm muffins, wishing everyone, “Merry Christmas,” giving them a tract explaining what Christmas means.

Later Christmas Day, our trash collectors came to the gate and kept ringing our bell. Richard looked out the veranda window, and they wanted him to know there were 4 of them. Evidently they had heard about the muffins we’d been distributing. We had no muffins left, so we gave them a bag of snacks to share (a spicy favorite among nationals) along with tracts. They were pleased.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
