07/10/12 Blessed in KY
We have now been in the USA for nearly 2 months. The culture shock is wearing off as we settle in to life in America. We are so blessed to live in such a comfortable house near our former home.
Our landlord has planted a thriving garden in the yard. Due to the ongoing drought, we need to water the garden periodically. We are thankful for the fresh vegetables.
Visiting the Virginias!
Despite 3 major storms that disrupted lives throughout West Virginia and Virginia and made us be more flexible in our plans, we had a wonderful time seeing family and friends during the Fourth of July week.

What a joy to visit Uncle Gillett Wickline and cousin Anthony. Uncle Gillett will be 94 in October and is still driving himself to Wal-mart and church!
While we lived in South Asia, some friends passed away. Please pray for the Israels and for Irene as they grieve the loss of beloved family members.
Bill and Nancy made us feel so welcome at their lovely home in Peterstown, WV.
Bill and Nancy along with Aunt Margaret and Uncle Bill joined us at Mamie and Jack’s home on July 4.
Guess who was happy that our Fourth of July celebration was not Thanksgiving!
We had a wonderful time of fellowship with friends from Bluefield and Princeton!
FAMILY REUNION - July 7, 2012 – ROCKY GAP, VA
After missing the last 3 annual family reunions while we lived in South Asia, it was a blessing to see family again!
Cousin Steve Toler and Vicki hosted us at their beautiful log home on top of the mountain. Here they are with their children and grandchildren.

This was a day of mixed emotions. We felt sadness as we were reminded of the passing of our parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. Their absence continues to be sorely felt. It was also a day to praise God for the Christian legacy left to us by many of them! May we leave a Christ-like example for those who are following us!
Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, O God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your might to all who are to come. Psalms 71:18
One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts.
Psalms 145:4 (NIV)

Trust in the Lord with your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.
